Located in the far west of Sicily, the Stagnone lagoon is an ancient nature reserve. It was the Phoenicians, in fact, who became aware of the optimal climatic conditions of the place and built the salt pans. Mothia, now called Mozia or San Pantaleo, also owes its origins to the Phoenicians, whose archaeological finds are still shrouded in the mystery of a history that will never be fully revealed.
